Cheapsabers Saber Kit page

Recently, Cheapsabers had a request for a saber that came unassembled. It is said that one of the tests required to become a jedi knight is to construct a saber.
So Cheapsabers will now be offering simple kits to construct a saber. The sabers can be ordered piece by piece, and assembled at your own leisure. Also, as a tutorial for how to use the pieces here, and just as a general service, Cheapsabers will also include an FAQ page on saber construction: just some of the basics on how to do what.
Click here for the saber construction FAQ.
Once you have finished picking out the parts to order in a kit, shipping information is at the bottom.

Metal parts
1 inch diameter chrome tube 6 inches with flanged end: $5.00
In layman's terms : the bottom half of a type 3, 4 and 5 metal lightsaber.click here for a picture. Also used as the ends of the type 2 metal double-sided lightsaber
1 inch diameter chrome tube 12 inches long with threaded ends: $7.00
In layman's terms : The middle of a type 2 chrome double-sided saber. Click here for pictures.
1.25 inch diameter chrome tube 12 inches long with flanged end: $7.00
Used in my type 1 saber as the main body. This is the only body that a lawn sprinkler type endcap will fit in, as seen here in the type 1 metal saber.
1 inch diameter sink drain type emitter: 7.00
This is the emitter used in all of my metal sabers except for the type 2, 4 and 6. It looks good... but it's expensive, which is why the type 2 and the type 4 are cheaper than the others of the same size.
Sprinkler head endcap: $5.00
This is the endcap used in the type 1 metal lightsaber. It is a Toro 570 series 3 inch sprinkler head, if you want to buy it for yourself at your local hardware store. Although it seems like an odd choice for a lightsaber part, it ends up looking pretty good. It is not metal, but it is grouped with the metal parts because it will only fit in the 1.25 inch diameter chrome tube.
Belt loop: $1.50
as shown above, this is a silver colored D-ring attached to a flat plate that can be screwed into a saber. In order to install this, you must have a drill of some kind. Do not attempt to install without adult supervision.
Belt hook: $1.00
as shown above, this is a simple gold colored hook that can be screwed into a saber. In order to install this, you must have a drill of some kind. Do not attempt to install without adult supervision.
Clamp: $1.50
This is a small clamp used on the Type 1 metal saber, simply for decoration really. No picture for now.

Saber grip material, buttons, and assembly materials
Foam rubber: $0.50 a sheet
This is the material Cheapsabers uses for most of its grips. It comes in a sheet about the size of a piece of notebook paper, and it will last for several sabers. This kind of material can be found in just about any crafts store, or even the craft section of Wal-mart.
Leather: $6.00 a sheet
Soft leather for grips comes in sheets about the same size as the foam rubber. It is very comfortable to the touch, but for those who want an animal-friendly saber, this might not be for you. It comes in tan, brown or black
Leather lace: $1.00 a foot
Leather lace used either for decoration, or to bind up the leather sheets used in grips. Comes in tan, brown or black.
Buttons: $0.25 each
Buttons can come in red, purple, blue or clear.
Knobs: $0.75 each
Knobs come in bronze or silver color.
O-rings: $2.00 for 6
These are small rubber rings that make wonderful grips. They are used on my type 3 and 4 metal saber found here.
J.B. Weld Epoxy: $5.00
This is the epoxy I use to assemble my sabers. It comes in 2 seperate tubes, and when mixed together, they will harden to incredible strength, much stronger than any glue could be. You must be careful when using it, though, if it gets on skin, wash it off as soon as you are done. It takes 15 hours to completely harden, so the sabers must sit overnight if you use this kind of epoxy to assemble them. There is enough in this tube to use for a few sabers.
